San Francisco, the best known and possibly the most interesting destination in California is a haven for architects, hippies, new age and victorian fans, and a whole lot in between.

The cuisine is virtually limitless and nearly as famous, while the things you’re going to see there will span the Victorian age, the space age, and the computer age.

It feels like stepping in and out of a time warp as you want street to street.

Union Square, one of the three original parks in the city is now a public space on top of an underground garage, surrounded by shops of the most elegant variety as well as theaters in close proximity to it.

Often called a moving landmark, the cable cars of San Francisco shouldn’t be passed up when you visit this most interesting of places.

Chinatown is a study in what the earlier 20th Century architects supposed that Chinese buildings should look like. There’s a whole lot here thats geared toward and created just for the tourists, but if you take the time and peek in deeper, you’re going to get a solid glimpse of the “real” Chinatown by checking out the smaller alleys and local shops.

Then there are the Victorian homes, something right out of  “Charmed” the homes are a study in remarkable architecture and a more gentle, cultured time in San Francisco’s history. These are something that you simply can’t miss. Row upon row of beautiful homes lined up spelling gracious living at it’s  best.

Lombard, whats been long called the “Crookedest” Street is not the most crooked nor is it the most steep but its absolutely the best known and most viewed.Take the cable car to to Lombard and Hyde and take a walk around to see some of the most amazing little places in the city.

Sausalito, just over the San Francisco Bay by a short ferry ride can offer you some of the best views you’re going to find of San Francisco.

Ocean Beach, the Cliff House has been a vaunted and well viewed part of SF since 1863, when the first one of the Cliff House was built. The version you’re seeing today is the third building.

As far as interesting destinations go, there are probably some that offer more adventure, but as cities go, San Francisco offers you history, architecture, a grand view of the past and a remarkable look at the future.
